I save my straws. I just cannot throw them away. I rinse them out and reuse them in a variety of ways. One way is to stick a flower in them that is too short for the arrangement I want. Then I place the “strawed” flower in a vase or add it to my current bouquet.
I like to make fruit flavored ice-cubes by freezing juice from canned fruit or the juice at the bottom of the bowl after serving a fruit salad. I just pour the juice into ice cube trays and freeze. I store the frozen cubes in a freezer bag until ready to use.

Every once in awhile I brew a pot of coffee that turns out too weak. I don’t like to just toss it down the sink so I’ve found a couple of ways to use the coffee that work for me. Continue reading
