I don’t like to wear the same “fancy” dress more than once, so when I need to dress up for a special occasion, I head to a consignment store where I can find a beautiful dress for less than half the original cost. After the affair, I head back to the consignment store and put the dress on consignment myself. When it sells, I recoup about half my money. So in the end I pay a small fraction of what I would have paid for a new dress.

When you’re finished with a coffee can or other resealable can, wash it out and reuse it. Use these cans to store items such as potato chips, rice, popcorn, flour, dog treats … Your food will stay fresh longer and is easier to serve from a can than rolling, unrolling and resealing the original bag. Save paper (and $$$’s) by not purchasing coloring books that your kids will only use a few times. Instead dig into your stash of paper that has been printed on one side and is blank on the other to print out exactly the coloring pages your children will use. Continue reading
