Jewelry Saver
I’m always looking for ways to reuse those little silica gel packages that come inside new shoes, vitamins and other items. Place them in your jewelry box and they’ll absorb any moisture and thus keep your jewelry from tarnishing.
Silver Cleaner
Expired baking soda, clean used aluminum foil and a little salt make an excellent silver cleaner.
Place your tarnished silver in an old pan (the pan will turn dark so you don’t want to use one of your good pans). Pour in enough water to cover silver. Add 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt and a crumbled up ball of aluminum foil. Bring to a boil and allow to boil for one minute. Remove silver, wash and dry with a soft cloth.
