An old pair of pantyhose comes in handy if you lose a small item such as a pair of earrings that may have fallen off somewhere in your bathroom. Simply get out your vacuum and put one leg of the pantyhose over the end of the vacuum hose and vacuum the area. Your lost item will not be sucked into the vacuum tube since the stocking serves as a net. Instead you should be able to find your lost item stuck on the end of the tube.
