Recycled Burlap Bags & A Prayer

I came across Know Hope bags – messenger bags made from recycled coffee bean bags at a church craft fair in Southern California. I was so impressed with how not-crafty these bags looked and with their vision for using the making and sale of these bags to help orphans and children around the world by bringing them food, shelter, and aid.

Connie Baker – the found of Know Hope says, “Making these bags began with a prayer…………..’Lord please give me an idea, something I can do that will make a difference in the lives of children who are hungry, cold, and without a family.’ From that prayer came the idea to recycle coffee bean burlap bags into messenger bags.  The  profits from the sales are used to bring hope to orphans, the hungry, and the homeless.”

Check out Know Hope Bags to see what they’re doing.

About Kat

I started this blog to share with you all the results of years of turning trash into treasures. Hopefully I'll spark some new creative thoughts and if that happens I hope that you'll share your discoveries and together we’ll build a blog that will singlehandedly reduce global warming and save the world! Okay, maybe that’s a grand goal but we should be able to at least downsize our own trash output.
