A shawl or scarf can easily be repurposed as a valance. Simply drape over a curtain rod and pin into place. This way when you’re ready to wear the shawl or scarf again it won’t be ruined.
Easy (and Cheap) Valances
This may be the easiest fabric valance ever. Drape a length of fabric (hemmed or unhemmed), a tablecloth, scarf or shawl over four hooks screwed into the wall above your window (evenly spaced across the window). Done!
