Window Shade Makeover

Instead of tossing out an ugly, torn or dirty window shade re-make it.

If your shade is simply dirty but otherwise intact you can paint it and be done with it.

Recovered Shades

If you have tissue paper or origami paper you can cover the shade for a very high end look. Arrange the paper on the shade to get your placement right before gluing. Spray both the shade and the back of the paper with craft spray adhesive. You don’t need to use colored tissue paper. White tissue paper gives the shades an interesting texture that looks very high end. This is a great way to use up white tissue paper, which I happen to have a never ending supply of, what with gifts and shopping.

Tattered Edges

If however you need to cover up torn or tattered areas get out your glue gun and get to it!
Glue fabric or ribbon trim over tattered edges to both reinforce and cover up.

Holes & Tears

Glue fabric or wallpaper cutouts over holes and tears.

About Kat

I started this blog to share with you all the results of years of turning trash into treasures. Hopefully I'll spark some new creative thoughts and if that happens I hope that you'll share your discoveries and together we’ll build a blog that will singlehandedly reduce global warming and save the world! Okay, maybe that’s a grand goal but we should be able to at least downsize our own trash output.
